The players from the Los Pumas 7’s squad resumed training together, after the break scheduled for the last weeks of August and the first of September.
With the aim of continuing the physical work to resume rhythm and thinking long-term in preparation for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, the group composed of Ignacio Mendy, Tomás Acosta Pimentel, Gerónimo Prisciantelli, Santiago Álvarez Fourcade, Rodrigo Etchart, Franco Sábato , Marcos Moroni, Francisco Ulloa, Máximo Provenzano, Joaquín de la Vega, Marcos Moneta, Matías Osadczuk and Santiago Mare, trained at the St. George’s College North facilities in Buenos Aires.
For their part, Gastón Revol, Fernando Luna, Lautaro Bazán Vélez, Luciano González Rizzoni and Germán Schulz, worked in Córdoba, Rodrigo Isgro in Mendoza, Felipe del Mestre in Mar del Plata and Tomás Vanni in Tucumán.
“The rest that we gave the players in the last weeks was something programmed before the pandemic and we kept it since it was necessary that there be a mental relaxation rather than a physical one. The High Performance player does not rest from the physical, but from pressure, nerves and contact, so each one trained on their own ”, explained Head Coach Santiago Gómez Cora.
In addition, the coach added: “The group is working very hard, both in Buenos Aires and Córdoba and in the other cities where we have players. Now we start to prepare first physically and then technically, all subject to how the situation progresses, and subject to possible competition by the end of this year or the beginning of next year ”.
