The American team Haas, has not yet confirmed his duo of drivers for the 2021 Formula 1 season. Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen have not yet defined whether they intend to remain in the team. In addition, the opportunity to have Sergio Pérez appeared, after he confirmed his departure from Racing Point, this Wednesday.
Haas team boss Gunther Steiner told the media in Mugello that the future of the team is still unclear. Nor did he say if he will have or had talks with Pérez. One of the keys for the next drivers must be continuity for at least two years, said Steiner.
“Everything is on the table for next year, because the only thing I would like, and I will discuss this with Gene Haas in the coming weeks and months, is how to do our best,” Steiner assured a British media. In addition, the team does not have the best performance this year. So far this season I only get one point, at the Silverstone Grand Prix.
Regarding the future of the team, Steiner commented that: “We will see what is best for us. But one thing, in my opinion, we have to do is whoever’s in the car in 2021 should be in 2022. Because with a new car on the way, if you know your driver, you’ve at least fixed something. Whoever it is, even if these guys who are here now and stay, they should stay for at least the next two years.
Is Sergio Pérez arriving?
Regarding the departure of Pérez and a possible arrival to the American team, by ‘Checo’, Steiner closed by saying that: “I am against changing before 2022, with a new car and a new driver, that could be difficult. It’s all I can say, the rest is open. I still have no idea who will drive in 2021 and 2022.
