Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez completes a couple of training sessions with Everton and confirms his initial feelings about the strength of the project led by coach Carlo Ancelotti. This was reflected in his first contact with journalists before the start of the Premier League this weekend.
Work with Ancelotti: I had a good year with him, I hope this year is good, that he can help the club achieve great things, I see that they are doing serious things, it is a club with history. I wanted to be with him again, in 2014 I had a top year with him, and we have a good feeling. It’s a good chance to be able to do good things together and for the club as well.
Challenges in Everton: You always want more, I’m in a new, big league and I want to do big things here. I’m in a good club and with a manager who knows how everything is.
First days: The adaptation is going well, there is a lot of quality, players with a lot of technique, that’s good for what we want. I have been training for four days and there are good things, and there is a future for what the club wants, to go game by game. It is a club that wants to achieve things, there are serious people. It will be a project and I see things to be able to win, you see those points and say: “You can win things.”
The Premier League: I have always said that football is the same everywhere, if there is talent and quality you can even play in another world. The Premier is a tough, strong league and I hope to be able to play well very soon.
Expectations of the fans: For me it is something beautiful, here they are very fans, there is a lot of passion and that makes those of us here have to give everything. I hope to give everything so that they are happy.
