The motor world was always very expensive. Entering any automotive category is a very large investment for any person or company. That is why this Sunday it was known what the quota should be for any team that wants to enter the Formula 1, according to the new Pact of Concord.
This year with the new pact and confirmation of the regulation, the teams had to install a measure to be able to shield their actions. This is why it was established that each new team that wants to enter the category must pay a sum of 200 million dollars. Zak Brown and Toto Wolff defended this millionaire sum this Sunday morning.
The decision is based on the fact that several teams want to enter the category, without adding too much support to the sport. In addition, it seeks to continue for several years with the current teams and thus avoid future purchases, as happened with the Williams team in recent weeks. Finally, it was confirmed that the prizes of the races will be divided into 12 parts, for the 10 teams.
“What you want to do with the 200 million is to protect the value of the existing equipment. If that’s how the Williams sale was reported, that’s less expensive than $ 170 million and you get a lot more for your money than starting a team from scratch, ”Brown told the media this Sunday.
For his part, Wolff closed by saying that: “Anyone who has money can decide if they want to make an investment or not. With the economic cup, it can be an investment, because if you do a good job this becomes somewhat profitable. This is an opportunity because it creates value for someone new. Whoever gets in needs to have a pretty solid fund of money to get the license and then build their team or buy one from there.
