The sixth date of the 2020 championship of MotoGP. At the San Marino Grand Prix there was a blow on the table and there is a new leader of the Motorcycle World Championship. Fabio Quartararo had a double fall and could not finish the race, while his teammate Franco Morbidelli took a victory that is key in the title fight.
The championship is tighter than ever after Franco Morbidelli’s victory. The Italian took the first of his sporting career and scores to be one of the candidates for the title. Valentino Rossi was left with the desire to be on the podium after a great race. Joan Mir snatched third place from him at the last corner of the race.
Maverick Viñales started from pole position, however, he could not capitalize on it and did not perform well at the start of the race. He quickly moved to sixth position and couldn’t regain a good rhythm. Right after starting, the Spaniard was overtaken by the three Yamahas who were behind, Morbidelli, Rossi and Quartararo.
Fabio Quartararo had a crash in the fourth turn of the circuit that condemned him to the bottom of the race grid. However, he went back up to try to come back as fast as possible. A few laps later, while riding in last position, he fell again, for which he had to abandon.
Valentino Rossi had in his hands the possibility of obtaining his 200th podium in his life. However, Joan Mir took third place at the last minute. Andrea Dovizioso took the lead in the championship, thanks to his seventh place at Misano. For his part, Francesco Bagnaia finished in second position and achieved the first podium of his career.

Andrea Dovizioso is the new leader of the championship, with 76 points. For his part, Fabio Quartararo is second, six points behind the Italian. In third position it is located third with 63 units. As for the teams, Yamaha Petronas is in the front with 127 points, second is the official team of the Japanese brand with 116.
