Boca Juniors confirmed the injury of Gonzalo Maroni: he is torn

Boca Juniors confirmed this Saturday in a medical report the injury of Gonzalo Maroni, who retired with a muscular discomfort against DIM, for CONMEBOL Libertadores.

The report clarifies that the talented Xeneize striker suffers from a grade II muscle injury to the hamstring of the left thigh.

This tear will marginalize Maroni from the fields for around three weeks and he will miss at least the game against Libertad this Tuesday, in addition to arriving without rhythm at the closing of the group stage of the Libertadores, against Caracas, next Thursday, June 22. October.

It remains to know if the activity will resume at the local level or if Boca will play a friendly in the “FIFA window”.

Maroni was starting for Miguel Ángel Russo in this Copa restart and was one of the new faces of the squad after his return from the loan at Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old came out in the first half of Boca’s match in Colombia, after feeling muscle discomfort after a run in attack.

Russo must replace him for this Tuesday and Agustín Obando could enter, who was the footballer who entered for Maroni against DIM.
