Gonzalo Higuaín: a Chilean at the post and a missed penalty in the MLS debut

Almost 14 years have passed since Gonzalo Higuain left River plate to cross the ocean and land on Real Madrid. And after a career full of successes and Europe, Pipita returned to wear the shirt of an American team. This time it was Inter Miami, of the MLS, in the framework of a match against Philadelphia Union by a new round of the American League. However, the debut was far from what was expected: his team fell 3-0 and Pipa himself missed a penalty at the end of the game.

Higuaín had warned before 20 minutes, when Chilena connected a very good cross from Figal and the ball hit the post before getting lost off the field.

The crooked night of Inter Miami extended to Gonzalo Higuaín, whose performance was diluted within a collective scheme of low football flight. The culminating moment for Pipa came in minute 75, in which had the possibility of approaching his team through a penalty. Unbeatable option to start with the right foot, but reality indicated that the ball ended up in the clouds and thus a debut for oblivion was closed of the Argentine forward.

Inter Miami showed why it is one of the bottoms of the Eastern Conference. The goals of Fontana (high shot that got against the left post), of Ilson (he pushed it against an empty goal after the lack of action of the rival defense) and of Aaronson (crossed shot taking advantage of a gift) sealed the 3-0 definitive and were the faithful reflection of what happened on the field of play.
