Positive Wednesday for Argentine tennis at Roland Garros, with three triumphs in singles and just one defeat. Nadia Podoroska, Diego Schwartzman and Federico Coria, in that order celebrated in Paris.
Nadia podoroska, who had achieved her first victory in a Grand Slam, this time with partials of 6-3, 1-6 and 6-2, she beat Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan (No. 27 in the world and No. 23 seeded of the tournament). With this result, Rosario will be on the edge of the Top 100 for the first time in her life.
Her next rival will be Anna Schmiedlova who surprised by defeating Victoria Azarenka 6-2 and 6-2, champion of Cincinnati and finalist of the US Open.
Further, Diego schwartzman (14th ATP) wore a flawless tennis and settled without going upset in the third round after beating Italian Lorenzo Giustino (157th) 6-1, 7-5 and 6-0 in two hours and four minutes. Further, Federico Coria (99th) beat Frenchman Benoit Paire 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-3 and 6-1 and advanced for the first time in his career to the third round of a Grand Slam tournament. Now he will wait for the result of the match between the Italian Jannik Sinner (75) and the French Benjamin Bonzi (227) to meet his next opponent.
