BARCELONA – Ramón Planes, Barcelona’s technical secretary, ruled out that striker Ousmane Dembélé could leave the team, after different versions suggested that the Frenchman could be sold to Manchester United
“There is no negotiation. He is a player we have and as Ronald (Koeman) said, we hope we can enjoy his footballing arguments and I am convinced that he will have a great year with us ”, said the manager.
On some other signing, after carrying out the presentation of the American right back, Sergiño Dest, the manager gave no clues and assured that they are happy with the squad they have.
“We have a very good squad, with young people, with expert players, footballers who are the basis of this team and who are giving a message of maximum involvement to the group. We will not sign to sign, we will only bring players who give us what we don’t have ”.
Regarding Riqui Puig’s decision to stay in the team despite Koeman suggesting him to go on loan, Planes supported the youth squad.
“He was honest, like the coach telling him that it would cost him to have minutes. Riqui makes the decision to fight to fulfill his dream, something that seems very commendable to me, we support him and in the end there may be minutes for everyone ”, he explained.
And as for the central defender Samuel Umtiti, he did not rule out any option: “He is a great player, but now he is going through a bad situation, which is what injuries are in football. There are four days of market left, it is an atypical market, we have great respect for it and for its trajectory, we will look for the best solution for it.
