Robert Kubica tends to venture into different categories, in addition to Formula 1. The Pole is out of the 2020 grid, after he was fired from the team Williams at the end of the last season. Despite this, he is currently the reserve driver and tester for the team. Alfa Romeo.
In the last hours Kubica had the opportunity to drive a street car, a BMW, on the asphalt of the old circuit of Nurburgring, better known as the Nordschleife. The test result was bad for the car owners, but very productive and entertaining for Kubica.
The Pole took part of the long line of Nurburgring and tried with him BMW, as if it were just another race car. The result was that multiple parts of the car were destroyed. This was reflected in a video posted by Misha Charoudin’s account on YouTube. There are two publications where you can see the complete lap, at maximum speed, and the second where the completely destroyed components are shown.
From the brake disc, the tires, to the exhaust pipe, they ended up completely obsolete after what was done by Kubica. The Pole completed 36 laps around the extensive circuit, so the car was squeezed to the max, in what appears to be a sponsorship test.
Kubica is competing in DTM, the most important category of passenger cars in Germany. In this season he could only harvest one point and his results are bad. The Pole did not rule out returning to Formula 1, in the nearest future. However, you are not expected to hire him, considering the current market.
