Diego Maradona tested negative for Covid-19 in the last swab

Diego Maradona, coach of Gimnasia de La Plata, had to undergo a new swab after one of his players, Nicolás Contín, tested positive. The same world champion in 1986 was in charge of informing that his result was negative.

“Hello everyone, I wanted to tell you that thank God, my son Diego Fernando, Verónica and I, we DO NOT have Coronavirus. I send you a big kiss and a BIG THANK YOU to all who were concerned about our health. And a lot of strength for all those who are fighting it! ”, Diego wrote on his Instagram account.

At the same time, his lawyer Matías Morla expressed on his Twitter: “The swab performed on Diego Maradona was negative for Covid. Thanks to all Argentines for their concern and displays of affection. To continue taking care of ourselves because the virus is still among us ”.

Contín, 24, tested positive for coronavirus last weekend after the amusing duel that his team played with San Lorenzo. Although the protocols were respected and from Maradona’s environment they had maintained that “a new test was not necessary”, in any case the DT underwent the analysis that finally came back negative.

Maradona, 59, is a person at risk for heart disease and must maintain strict care.
