Chilean tennis player Alexa Guarachi (45th in the world doubles ranking) and her partner, American Desirae Krawczyk (38th), achieved a solid triumph in the Roland Garros quarterfinals to reach the semifinals of the French Open.
The national player and her partner did not give space to their Japanese rivals Shuko Aoyama (22nd) and Ena Shibahara (24th), seventh seeds, and beat them 6-0 and 6-4 in a match that lasted one hour and three minutes.
For Guarachi, who had savored Pan American gold in mixed doubles, it is the first semifinal in a Grand Slam in a result that will allow her to appear next Monday among the 40 best doubles players in the world. The Creole had already broken records by going to the quarterfinals and now she surpasses it being the first Chilean to reach the instance for the passage to the final in a Grand Slam.

The victory only ratifies the great level that the Chilean and American are exhibiting on French clay. In the previous round, they had eliminated the best duo in the world made up of the Taiwanese Su-Wei Hsieh (1st D) and the Czech Barbora Stryvcova (2nd D).
