The talented and speedy back of Ireland, Jordan Larmour, this discarded for the Six Nations after dislocate a shoulder. Larmour, who plays wing or fullback, is injured on saturday while playing for Leinster against Benetton and will undergo a surgery this week.
Ireland hosts Italy on October 24 and ends against France a week after their participation in rugby’s oldest tournament. Larmour, 23, will not be able to be in these games. Another player who may not make it is starter Jonnathan Sexton with a hamstring injury and will be evaluated by the IRFU medical team this week.
The Ireland team will meet Wednesday with Rónan Kelleher and Andrew Porter, who will also be evaluated along with Sexton. Second row Ryan Baird will remain with Leinster after sustaining an injury in the win over Benetton at Treviso. Andy Farrell’s team is four points behind leaders England and second-placed France, but with one game less.
After the Six Nations, Ireland will participate in four Autunm Nations Cup matches in November and early December, against Wales, England and Georgia.
