Brazil defeated Peru 4-2 in Lima for the second date of the South American Qualifiers towards Qatar 2022, in a duel that had several controversies due to the two penalties charged to Verdeamarela.
After André Carrillo’s goal for Ricardo Gareca’s team, Neymar, author of a triplet, made it 1-1 from twelve steps after a slight grab from Yoshimar Yotún in the area. Julio Bascuñán did not hesitate and sanctioned the foul.
In the second stage, the Bicolor again took the lead with a goal from Renato Tapia, after a shot that was deflected by Rodrigo Caio. La Verdeamarela equalized thanks to Richarlison who, on the verge of offside, pushed a Firmino shot.
Again with a penalty, Brazil took the lead for the first time in the match. Carlos Zambrano crossed Neymar in the area and Bascuñán punished him. The PSG striker took over the execution and made it 3-2.
At the end, Neymar achieved his triplet and the final 4-2. In addition, Zambrano was ejected by elbowing Richarlison.
