Nepo Laulala, pillar of the All Blacks, confirmed this Thursday that he will leave Chiefs and that, for (at least) the next two years he will play the New Zealand Super Rugby in Blues.
Born in Samoa and raised in Auckland, Laulala wanted to be closer to his family. “My wife and I felt that it was the right time to reach out to our loved ones,” he said.
As it is, the team that leads Leon macdonald will have four front-row players who are part of the Men in Black squad that will play the Tres Nations, in which they will debut against Los Pumas: they are also Ofa Tuungafasi, Karl Tu’inukuafe and Alex Hodgman.
For his part, MacDonald explained the reason for the interest in the 29-year-old: “Nepo is very powerful in the scrum and has worked hard to improve his mobility and handling on the field.”
