Hamilton made history again and won the Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix

After a heartbreaking start, the Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix he lost emotion running the laps. In a first lap that left the hearts in the hands of the fans, there was an accident and even Carlos Sainz was left with the lead of the race. However, the performance of the Mercedes was growing little by little, and the Spanish leadership lasted just four laps.

Lewis hamilton took the victory in Portimao, and marked the number 92 of his sporting career. The Briton became the most winning driver in the history of Formula 1. He beat Michael Schumacher’s record by one. After a bad start, Hamilton found his rhythm again and quickly rallied to finally win by a big difference.

Valtteri Bottas again he was the big loser of the day. The Finn finished second after leading much of the event. However, at one point he lost almost two seconds in a lap and Hamilton passed it like a breath. Bottas defended himself very little and accused a lack of rhythm in his Mercedes. The 1-2 of the German team puts the Constructors’ championship in his pocket.

To close the podium, in third position was Max verstappen. The Dutchman came back from a very difficult situation. In the first round he had a strong incident with Sergio perez, which seemed to doom his career. However, he solidly started to climb some positions and secured the last ladder of the top three.

Championship status

After another victory, Lewis Hamilton continues to stretch his advantage in the Formula 1 championship. The Briton leads the classification with 255 units, against the 179 points of Valtteri Bottas. For his part, Max Verstappen remains third with 162. The constructors’ championship has Mercedes first with 435, while Red Bull has 226.
