Soso: "Ángel had an action that he had no intention of causing"

Mariano Soso gave his first press conference as coach of San Lorenzo Y clarified the complicated moment they went through when Ángel Romero injured Marcelo Herrera during a workout.

“It was a very painful situation that brought unintended consequences. Angel had an action that he had no intention of causing what is already known publicly, “said DT when asked about the controversial crossing.

“I interpreted that the action had been excessive and that perhaps I had not considered the risks of it and based on that I established a sanction that was agreed with the technical secretariat and the leadership,” he explained.

In addition, he highlighted the positive side that could be generated from what happened and assured: “I think the most valuable thing about the episode is that we have seen the conflict not as a threat but as a possibility of strengthening the internal ties of the campus and that is what has happened ”.

“I deeply appreciate how Angel could assume and assimilate that situation and the willingness of the group to accompany that moment that was very painful for everyone,” he added.

The Cyclone is preparing for its debut in the Professional League Cup agreed for Saturday, October 31, as a visitor against Argentinos Juniors. For this match, Soso clarified that the starting team has not yet decided and will confirm it only the day before.
