Denis Shapovalov will not play the Masters 1000 in Paris. The Canadian, a finalist in 2019, was thus without a chance to play the ATP Finals in London. Another good news for Diego Schwartzman who is getting closer and closer to getting into the Masters Tournament.
Shapovalov was eliminated this Monday from the ATP 500 in Vienna and this Tuesday it was confirmed that he will not be in Paris. The 21-year-old left-hander, 12th in the ranking, has 2830 points and will not be able to reach the 3285 of Diego Schwartzman, 9th in the world and until today last classified at the ATP Finals in London.
Gael Monfils was also eliminated on Monday in Vienna and this Tuesday he announced that he will not compete for the rest of the season. Everything will be defined in Paris: Matteo Berrettini (10th, 3075) and Schwartzman (9th, 3285) barely reached the second round and have more points to add. Except for a great surprise in the French capital, between the two of them the last passage to London will be defined.
