At age 31 Aaron smith fulfilled 95 games with the All Blacks in the historic 43-5 win against Australia in Sydney. The scrum-half, a great performer at ANZ Stadium, was among the 10 All Blacks players with the most games in the history of the selected team and was 6 games behind Mils Muliaina who played 100 tests. The ranking tops it Richie McCaw with 148 presentations between 2001 and 2015.
He had a dream match throughout the 55 minutes that he was on the field of play when TJ Perenara replaced him. It was part of an overwhelming first half with the All Blacks displaying all their might and their dynamic of play got the team to begin to build a historic win in Sydney. Played his first game on June 9, 2012 against Ireland in Dunedin as a starter with Dan Carter in the media couple and that night those in black they won 42-10.
From there it began to be an everyday face with the black 9 t-shirt. Of the 95 matches 87 were as a starter. With 21 tries he is the scrum half with the most conquests in the history of his country. The record is held by Doug Howlett with 49 wins between 2000 and 2007. The year of his debut, he played all 13 games of the year, 12 of them as a starter. Today there is no doubt who the 9 of New Zealand is even though he has great competitors like TJ Perenara.
