(EFE) Manchester United, impeccable in Europe, once again showed its domestic shortcomings by losing against Arsenal by Mikel Arteta with a penalty goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Spanish coach continues to show that he dominates the big games and guided Arsenal to a victory that leaves United in 15th position with just seven points from six games.
Arsenal was the one that deserved the victory from the beginning of the match. United suffer at Old Trafford, where they have yet to win this season in the Premier League, and saw how Arsenal stole match control from them and lived close to David De Gea’s goal.
They tried their luck with a cross from Bellerín that Aubameyang did not reach, they hit wood with a shot from Willian’s crossbar and a header from Bukayo Saka went over the goal of De Gea.
They were being superior to an inoperative Manchester United in attack, which only created a dangerous opportunity in the first half with a Greenwood shot from a low angle to which Bernd Leno responded surely.
As the minutes passed, Arsenal’s dominance was more present and the Gunners were getting closer to the goal. Aubameyang carried most of the danger and a shot from him from the front almost surprised De Gea.
United’s reply came from set pieces with a shot from Maguire that narrowly missed the net.
But it seemed to be written that the one who would err would be Pogba. The Frenchman took Bellerín ahead inside the area and did not protest when Mike Dean pointed to the penalty spot.
Aubameyang, with his second goal in this Premier, put the Gunners ahead by cheating De Gea and clearing the way to three points.
Solskjaer reacted quickly by putting Edinson Cavani onto the pitch, but United only created a rebound hazard, when Willian tried to clear a cross, touched Leno and crashed into the post.
Arsenal are recovering from two consecutive defeats in the Premier League and climb to eighth position with twelve points, while United is fifteenth with seven.
