Diego Maradona, Gymnastics and Fencing coach of La Plata, was operated successfully this Tuesday night for a subdural hematoma that was detected in a tomography.
The intervention was carried out by Dr. Leopoldo Luque, Maradona’s personal physician.
At 18, Maradona left the Ipensa de La Plata Sanatorium in an ambulance, accompanied by his daughter Gianinna and with a large group of fans chasing the vehicle, some with flares. And at 19:10, El Diez arrived at the Olivos Clinic to undergo surgery.
“We did a CT scan a month ago and everything was absolutely normal. We decided to repeat the studies and we observed that he has a subdural hematoma. These injuries are imperceptible, he does not remember if he had a blow,” confirmed the doctor himself in the afternoon.
“He is lucid, he understands, he agrees with the intervention. He is very calm,” Luque closed before the surgery.
