Very bad news for River: Rafael Santos Borré was isolated preventively for having been in close contact with a positive Covid-19 case.
The player himself and the club confirmed the news this Friday. By protocol, the Colombian footballer must remain separated from the squad for four or five days until confirming whether or not he was infected with coronavirus. So Marcelo Gallardo will not be able to count on him this Saturday against Rosario Central and he was in serious doubt for his call with the National Team of his country in the South American Qualifiers, next week.
The millionaire campus had no positive cases in the last swabs performed.
The loss of the forward joins that of Nacho Fernández, who suffered a tear in the loss to Banfield, last Tuesday.
Borré is going through a situation similar to that experienced by Marcelo Gallardo the previous week, when he had to isolate himself due to close contact with a Covid case.
Now, River’s coach will have to define who will replace Borré: the first candidate, according to SportsCenter specialist Javier Gil Navarro is Lucas Pratto. El Millonario will train this Friday afternoon, but he was not scheduled to do formal football.
Meanwhile, Santiago Sosa would be the one to replace Nacho Fernández. The rest of the eleven would remain unchanged with respect to those who lost on Tuesday, that is: Armani; Montiel, Paulo Díaz, Pinola, Casco; Sosa, Enzo Pérez, De la Cruz; Álvarez, Pratto and Matías Suárez.
River will receive Rosario Central this Saturday at the Independiente stadium, from 9:15 p.m., for the second date of the Professional League Cup.
ℹ️ [Parte médico] The player Rafael Borré has been isolated in a preventive manner because he was in contact with a person who later tested positive for COVID 19. Once the reasonable time has elapsed, the corresponding studies will be carried out.
