San Lorenzo beat Estudiantes on the second date of the Professional League Cup

San Lorenzo achieved the first triumph at the hands of Mariano Soso, with a good performance against Estudiantes LP, for the second date of the Professional League Cup.

The 2-0 victory of the Cyclone was thanks to the goals from Mariano Peralta Bauer and Ángel Romero, from a free kick.

The game started with the visitor a little better and causing some arrivals, although without great danger.

At nine minutes, Nicolás Bazzana won in a corner and his header went very close to the crossbar of the goal defended by Fernando Monetti.

At the beginning of the match, it was Pincha who had the most control of possession and approaches, but as the minutes passed, San Lorenzo went ahead.

At 18 minutes there was the first arrival of San Lorenzo with a good change of front by Óscar Romero so that Víctor Salazar sent the center that Ángel Romero could not connect correctly.

A minute later there was a bad start from Pincha, recovered by the Cyclone, although it did not pass to greater with a center well cut by Mariano Andújar.

San Lorenzo raised the pressure and recovered again at the exit of Estudiantes and a crossed cross by Ángel Romero was left to Lucas Menossi, who finished and controlled the goalkeeper well.

The first cry of the match came at 32 minutes, after a great assist from Óscar Romero for Mariano Peralta Bauer, who controlled with great class and effectively defined against a post for the 1-0 of San Lorenzo. This was the first league goal for the 22-year-old.

The Cyclone did not stop the pressure and they stole the ball from Mascherano, so that Ángel finished with power and rejected the goalkeeper with his chest.

After taking the lead, it was Soso’s team that dominated the ball, even without being very deep and generating clear chances.

At the beginning of the complement, Estudiantes tried to get a little more ahead on the field and got a couple of approaches to the opponent’s area, although without much danger.

At 4 minutes, Leandro Díaz saw the yellow for a very strong kick on the knee of Óscar Romero, which could perfectly have been a red card, due to the violence and the high impact, although the referee Espinoza did not consider it that way.

A few plays later there was a good connection between the Romeros. Óscar sent a great pass to Ángel, who hooked a couple of times in the area and preferred to drop because he could not finish.

Students looked for the tie in a pair of occasions with stopped ball, but without greater precision.

At 20 minutes, Ángel Romero put together a good play down the left wing and launched a dangerous cross that Peralta Bauer could not convert in the second.

A minute later, Ángel himself caused Mauricio Guzmán’s red, with a perfect hook that forced the young defender to knock him down and receive the second yellow.

San Lorenzo’s second goal came from that free kick, after a magnificent execution by Ángel Romero, which left Andújar completely stopped.

The goal of San Lorenzo ironed the actions a bit, added to the various changes made by both teams and the emotions were lacking in the last minutes.

This result gives San Lorenzo the shared top of zone 5 of the Professional League Cup with Aldosivi, with four units.

On the next date, the Cyclone will visit the Shark in Mar del Plata, while Estudiantes LP will receive Argentinos Juniors, seeking to get out of the bottom.
