An elusive tournament: Nadal's karma at the Paris Masters 1000

Rafael Nadal was eliminated from Masters 1000 of Paris-Bercy at the hands of Alexander Zverev. The Spanish fell in the semifinal of the contest against the German by 6-4 and 7-5 and continues without being able to celebrate in this tournament.

So far in his career, Rafa participated seven times in the main draw of the French championship, but was absent nine other times. In the first place, in 2007, the current world number two fell in the final of the competition against Argentine David Nalbandian 6-4 and 6-0.

Then, the Mallorcan lost in the Paris quarterfinals in 2008 against Davydenko 6-1 and his part was abandoned. Already in 2009, Nadal was eliminated in the semifinal at the hands of Novak Djokovic 6-3 and 6-2.

The Spanish did not participate until 2013, edition in which he said goodbye in the semifinal against his compatriot David Ferrer by 6-3 and 7-5. Besides, andn 2015 and 2017 lost in the quarterfinals, while in 2018 he was dropped before the start of the tournament, and in 2019 he had to leave the tournament in the semifinal against Denis Shapovalov due to injury.
