Season of Ofa Tu’ungafasi of the All Blacks came to an end, since received a three-week suspension, which means the rest of the Three Nations will be lost after the All Blacks were unsuccessful in their appeal against suspension for a dangerous tackle.
Tu’ungafasi received a red card for a high tackle off Wallaby Tom Wright in the first half of the All Blacks’ 24-22 loss in Brisbane last weekend.
As reported by Stuff, The All Blacks fought the Tu’ungafasi case before a Sanzaar judicial committee hearing Tuesday night and they worked hard to argue that there was a mitigation in their approach to Wright.
But Tu’ungafasi was found guilty of breaking law 9.13 rugby: “A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously”; by a three-person panel consisting of Robert Stelzner SC (chair), Lawrence Sephaka and José Luis Rolandi.
