Exequiel Palacios suffered a very hard blow from Ángel Romero and retired injured in the match between the Argentine National Team and Paraguay, in the match for the South American Qualifiers Heading for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The play took place in the middle of the field when the Bayer Leverkusen footballer jumped to head the ball and received a direct hit from Romero’s knee in the lower back.
Palacios was immediately left on the floor in enormous pain and after being treated by the doctors he had to be replaced in the 28th minute by Giovani Lo Celso.
The pain was so great that it had to be removed in the cart and could not get on by his own means.
Referee Raphael Claus determined it was an accidental collision and he did not get a card from the Paraguayan soccer player.
