(EFE) – Chelsea came back from the squad with a win over Newcastle United (0-2) and lead the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s men beat Magpies at St James Park with an own goal from Argentine Fede Fernández and a goal from forward Tammy Abraham in the second part.
The Blues went ahead after ten minutes, when an intermission by the band ended with a cross that Fernández, instead of clearing at the insistence of Ben Chilwell, put in his own goal.
The Argentine requested a previous foul by pushing, but the referee did not indicate anything.
Despite Chelsea’s clear dominance, the sentence did not come until the second half, when Tammy Abraham took advantage of a good deep pass from Timo Werner to beat the Newcastle goalkeeper below.
With this victory, Chelsea is provisionally first in the standings, with 18 points, the same as Leicester City and one more than Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
