Daniil Medvedev he won the ATP Finals in London after beating Dominic Thiem 4-6, 7-6 (2) and 6-4. With this victory, in addition to lifting his first trophy in this competition, he also reached a mark that only four tennis players held: beat the top three ATP ranking players in the same tournament.
The Russian got rid of Novak Djokovic (1st) in the group stage by 6-3 and 6-3. In the semifinals he had to face Rafael Nadal (2nd) which he beat 3-6, 7-6 (4) and 6-3. Already in the final, he did the same with Thiem (3rd) by 4-6, 7-6 (2) and 6-4.
The other three tennis players who also have this curious brand are David Nalbandian at the Masters 1000 in Madrid in 2007, Novak Djokovic at the Masters 1000 in Montreal 2007 and Boris Becker at the Masters 1000 in Stockholm in 1994. The Argentine defeated Roger Federer , Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, while the Serbian did the same with Federer, Nadal and Andy Roddick. Finally the German triumphed against Pete Sampras, Goran Ivanisevic and Michael Stich.
