The German multi-champion Boris becker will stop being the general coach of his country’s men’s tennis team at the end of the year, according to the announcement German Tennis Federation (DTB).
The entity, on its official website, reproduced statements by Becker in this regard, in which he stated that “working for the Federation in the last three and a half years gave me great pleasure. Unfortunately, at this time I have no time to continue this extensive task. “
Becker, who took over as director of German men’s tennis at the end of August 2017, said in the statement that he will continue to be linked to DTB, the DPA agency reported.
“If my time permits and the opportunity arises, I can imagine taking on an even bigger task at the German Tennis Federation,” noted the three-time Wimbledon winner, who in practice functioned as a tennis ambassador for his country and oversaw the task of the Davis Cup team boss, Michael Kohlmann.
The Federation indicated that precisely Kohlmann will be responsible for German men’s tennis in the future.
