November 2021 window: Scotland will host South Africa and Australia

The Scottish Union announced two of the three opponents it will have in the November 2021 window, against South Africa, Australia and a third team, which will be announced in due course.

The games will be played at BT Murrayfield on the weekends of November 6, 13 and 20, 2021 respectively.

Scotland’s previous home games at BT Murrayfield have been in high demand with 17 of the last 18 internationals having sold out at the Edinburgh Stadium.

Scotland will look for a hat-trick of successive victories against the Wallabies, having won their last two meetings at BT Murrayfield and Sydney, both in 2017. In fact, Scotland have won four of their last seven meetings against Australia.

On the other hand, they have passed ten years since Scotland last defeated the world’s number one team, the Springboks, at home, although there have been some very close battles both at home and away in the meantime.

Scotland’s head coach, Gregor Townsend said: “The Fall Nations Cup has been a great way for international rugby to resume in these difficult times. Fans, players and coaches will be looking forward to next year when Scotland take on rivals from the southern hemisphere, Australia and the world champions, South Africa at BT Murrayfield.

“The Fall Internationals in 2021 will be another opportunity for our players to represent their country, hopefully with the assistance of our fans, and as a result, provide the team with a different and exciting challenge.”
