(EFE) – Bayern Munich, supported by the precision of French Kingsley Coman and the success of Thomas Muller, avoided defeat against Leipzig, who had the score in favor for much of the second half and only left with a point from the Allianz Arena that keep him two units from the leadership that the champion retains.
With this, the distance duel between the two for the title remains open, with Borussia Dortmund as third in contention somewhat behind after the defeat against Cologne the previous week and the draw this Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt.
In the second minute the first chance of scoring was given and it went to Leipzig with a shot to the crossbar by Marcel Sabitzer from outside the area. Both teams showed great intensity from the start, with Bayern pressing in the opposite half and Leipzig a little more withdrawn but also planning to close the spaces.
The approach of the two teams led to many individual duels for the ball in the center of the field from the beginning and to generated losses of the ball forced by the pressure of the opponent.
Bayern’s first approach came in the 11th minute with a shot off Kingsley Coman’s outside net.
When Bayern seemed to have started to take control of the commitment, Leipzig made a good counter attack, in the minute that ended with a shot from Nkunku that was blocked for a corner.
That arrival was a warning. In the 18th minute, with Bayern completely turned on the attack, after a loss of the ball near the opposite area, another explosive counterattack came that, through Emile Forsberg’s pass, left Nkunku alone before Manuel Neuer left to score the first after dribbling the Bavarian goal.
In the 25th Javi Martínez had to be substituted due to injury. With the score against coach Hansi Flick opted for an offensive option and turned to Jamal Musiala.
The young player, 17, responded to the confidence and achieved the equalizer, with a shot from outside the area in the 30th minute.
Earlier, Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi had to deflect Benjamin Pavard’s volley shot from outside the box to a corner kick in the 28th.
In 35 Bayern went ahead through Thomas Müller after a great team play. Robert Lewandowski received the ball in the center of the field, he made a tunnel to Dayot Upamecano so that Coman received about 20 meters from the goal and put the ball into the area where Müller appeared to score with a left-footed shot.
Bayern were still celebrating when Leipzig’s equalizer arrived, scored by Justin Kluiviert with a shot from inside the box from Haidara.
In the second half, Leipzig went ahead again in 47, with a header from Forsberg, whom the Bayern centrals did not seem to have news of when they received a cross from Angeliño from the left inside the small area.
Then Bayern seized the ball, put it in the opposite half and insisted permanently until it found its way to an equalizer in the 75th minute.
Musiala opened to the right for Coman who released a cross into the area where Müller won the aerial duel to score with a header.
