The Head Coach of Los Pumas 7s, Santiago Gómez Cora, confirmed the squad of 18 players that will travel to Chile to play the South American SAR7s, to be held on December 12 and 13, in the town of Valparaíso. The Argentine team, which is training this week at Casa Pumas, will participate in the contest organized by South America Rugby along with Chile, Brazil and Uruguay.
Statements by Santiago Gómez Cora
«The objective of the weekend is to play, luckily we have the possibility to finish the year playing. Our goal was always to be able to play and this time we are going to be privileged to be able to do so. We already saw Argentina XV, Los Pumas and the girls, and now it’s our turn. So very happy to be able to represent the country in this unusual year.
“The idea is to focus a little on the attack part. We had a shortcoming last season in that regard. Although we had focused on obtaining and possessing, the definition was very difficult for us. It was in that area where we statistically had the highest number of possession losses.
“Finally, on the list of 18, we want to rotate everyone so that they can add minutes and finish the year in the best way.”
