(EFE) – Lanús and Independiente drew goalless in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana played at the Néstor Díaz Pérez stadium in Buenos Aires.
Independiente, winner of the 2010 and 2017 editions, had reached this stage by eliminating the Uruguayan Fénix with a 5-1 aggregate and, after this tie, he managed to extend his undefeated series to 13 games.
Lanús, champion in 2013, while he had acceded to this instance after beating Bolivian Bolivar by a 7-4 aggregate.
The meeting was marked by casualties in both teams. Leonel Di Plácido and Nicolás Orsini were unable to perform at the venue due to injuries, while Alan Franco and captain Silvio Romero were unable to play at Red.
The hot day in Buenos Aires affected the performance of the two teams, who showed two different styles of play: while the local bet on a vertical game, the visitors opted for the leisurely movement of the ball without running over the goal defended by Lautaro Morales .
