Manchester United vs. Manchester City - Game Report - December 12, 2020

(EFE) – Manchester United and Manchester City signed a goalless draw at Old Trafford, insufficient for the aspirations of both who do not finish re-engaging at the top of the Premier, where Tottenham is accommodated even on points with Liverpool.

Chances were rare in the crash of the eleventh date of the English competition that leaves the team of the Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solksjaer four points behind the leadership and that of the Spanish Pep Guardiola five. A distance that can grow on Sunday if Tottenham win at Crystal Palace and Liverpool add the three at Craven Cottage, against Fulham.

Both United and City lacked aim on the rare occasions they watched the game. Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne were the main threats from the locals, who had their best chance with a header from Harry Maguire that went high.

He was able to change the shock at the beginning of the second half. But the VAR avoided it. The referee, Chris Kavanagh whistled a penalty in favor of the locals for a foul by Kyle Walker. But the video refereeing review avoided it. Everything returned to normal.

The changes did not improve the outlook either. Neither Ferrán Torres, who replaced Mahrez, shook the visitors nor the entrance of Anthony Martial activated the locals.

The Manchester derby ended goalless. With United’s hot streak of four straight wins halted and with a new setback in City’s aspirations.
