EFE – Manchester United embittered the return to Old Trafford to Marcelo Bielsa with a scandal win (6-2) that fell short even for the number of occasions there were in the meeting.
The ‘Red Devils’ left the clash sentenced in just over half an hour with four goals that brought out the defensive deficiencies of Leeds.
At 69 seconds, Scott McTominay opened the scoring with a low shot from the front and just a minute later he made the second, becoming the first footballer in Premier League history to score two goals in three minutes.
He was followed in the win by Bruno Fernandes, with a strong shot after a cut inside the area, and Victor Lindelof, in a corner, to make it 4-0.
As hope for Leeds, Liam Cooper headed in a corner just before half-time.
And it was David de Gea who prevented Leeds’ comeback from going further, with a couple of good interventions against Raphina.
The Spanish saves allowed United to keep the lead and hit the counter, finding the fifth goal with Daniel James and the sixth on a penalty transformed by Fernandes.
Nothing could do De Gea in the second of Leeds, a shot from outside the area of Stuart Dallas that went to the squad.
United continue to add positive results after the elimination in the Champions League and accumulate seven points out of nine possible since the defeat against RB Leipzig. Those of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who once again gain credit as a coach, are third in the table, with 26 points, five behind the leaders, Liverpool.
Leeds de Bielsa is fourteenth, with 17 points.
