The Argentine Basketball Confederation (CABB) launched the National Training Project 2028 for women on Tuesday, with the aim of developing 100 players between the ages of 13 and 17.
“I’m not going to see this myself, but it is the most important thing we can do for Argentine women’s basketball. It is a project that excites me a lot because we feel that these things are the ones that can change history, ”said the major’s coach, Gregorio Martínez, in an official statement from the entity.
“We are at a pivotal moment, in which we must go for a large women’s basketball, with internal competition that improves and, above all, with more girls playing our sport, the great pending issue,” he continued.
On the other hand, the idea of the coaching staff is to look for players throughout the country who meet the age requirement and also “height”, that is to say with more than 1.80 meters.
“We need these players to train at least 12 hours a week and for that to happen we will seek to complement the work of the clubs so that they also have the habits of athletes,” Martínez concluded.
