Emiliano Bergamaschi will lead the Brazilian team in the American Rugby Super League (SLAR) 2021, and will replace Fernando Portugal, who is now the head coach of Brazil’s top team, Os Tupis.
Bergamaschi was Daniel Hourcade’s assistant coach with Los Pumas when they reached the semi-final at RWC 2015. In SLAR 2020 he was assistant to Raúl Pérez at Olímpia Lions. As a player, Bergamaschi played as a professional in England from 2002 for the Bristol Bears and Saracens; and in France for Rouen.
The coach will not be the only Argentine in the Brazilian team, as it was also confirmed that he will have the front row at his command Santiago Gripo , to Manuel Bernstein, Franco Giudice and Marco De Sanctis.
