Miguel Ángel Russo analyzed the tough elimination of Boca, for the semifinals of CONMEBOL Libertadores, at a press conference.
“The idea was to play as equals. I am responsible, I take care of everything,” began the DT.
In addition, he remarked that they had failures that cost them goals at key moments: “We have made mistakes that we were not used to, and in these kinds of moments it costs a lot.”
“We have had errors that the rival took advantage of very well that cost us two goals and it was difficult for us to settle into the game,” he added.
“One does not go well, the defeat hurts. The semifinal was open, we knew of the possibility that we had and it cost us a lot,” he said.
“I have no excuses, or anything. In Boca reaching the semifinals and being left out is not what you are looking for,” closed the coach, visibly hurt by the situation.
