Diego Armando Maradona Cup: San Juan presented the security operation for the finals

The Province of San Juan presented at a press conference its security protocols for the definition of the Diego Armando Maradona Cup, which will be held this weekend at the San Juan del Bicentenario Stadium.

It was attended by the Secretary of State for Sports, Jorge Chica, the Sports Director of Proenter, Albino Valentini, the Secretary of State for Security, Carlos Munisaga, the Health Coordinator of the Ministry of Sports, Franco Chancay and the Chief of Police of San Juan, Commissioner Luis Martínez. And the most important aspects of the two matches to be played this Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 of the current were highlighted.

Among them, the public will NOT be allowed to enter the stadium during the finals, following the conditions of the protocol for sporting events during a pandemic period.

Faced with this impossibility, the fans and / or fans of the teams were urged NOT to move to the vicinity of the stadium or the doors of hotels, taking into account the risk of contagion due to the low social distancing that occurs in these cases.

For teams, leaders and referees, there will be a comprehensive security operation in the transfer from the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Airport to the respective hotels where they are staying and from there to the stadium.

By protocol, the teams can only arrive 24 hours before their meeting, so Vélez and Rosario Central will arrive today Friday, while Boca and Banfield will arrive on Saturday, all on charter flights to San Juan.

All procedures for the transfer of teams, leaders and referees will be carried out in two bubbles, guarded by the San Juan Police, all coordinated by the province’s Security Secretariat.

In Bubble 1, the teams that arrive in the province (players, coaching staff, leaders and referees) will enter, with a rapid antigen test or negative 48-hour PCR. This bubble will move from the hotel to the court without being able to have contact with people who are not tested and it will never be able to have contact with the bubble 2.

Bubble 2 will be made up of the press, suppliers and organizations, local and national, with a negative 48-hour rapid antigen test or PCR, which will not be able to have contact with bubble 1.

At 6 pm the stadium will open for all accredited people. Between 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the teams, referees and authorities will arrive at the stadium. And in all entrances to the interior of the stadium, temperature control will be carried out.

Both matches will begin at 10:10 p.m. and will be televised live. The security operation plans to NOT allow unauthorized people to approach the stadium.

Cuts have been scheduled on Calle 5, Calle Independencia, Calle 6, Calle 7, Calle 8 and Calle Gral Acha, that is, all the arteries that surround the stadium will be with cuts and police control and public access will not be allowed in general. On Route 40 no cuts will be made, but vehicles will NOT be allowed to stop in the vicinity.

In sports, the final complementation between Vélez Sarsfield and Rosario Central will be played on Saturday 16 from 10:10 p.m., and the winner of this match will later face the loser of the Diego Maradona Cup final, for a place in the Cup. South American 2022.

The final of the Diego Armando Maradona Cup will be played between Boca Juniors and Banfield, on Sunday, January 17 at 10:10 p.m.
