Fernando Gago was made official as the new coach of Aldosivi from Mar del Plata, this will be the first experience in command of a team. After recovering from a last injury, the ex-flyer retired on November 10 in Velez.
After the departure of Ángel Guillermo Hoyos, Gago will take the reins of the Shark from next Thursday. He coaching staff from ‘Pintita’ is made up of ‘Pocho’ Insúa, Roberto Luzzi as physical trainer, Diego Cogliandro, Gustavo Gallego and Gastón Maddoni.

Gago’s playing career led him to defend the shirts of Boca, Real Madrid, Roma, Valencia and the Argentine National Team, as well as Velez. At Xeneize he won nine titles, at Merengue four and one at the Liniers club. In addition, he won the U20 World Cup in 2005.
In recent years he suffered five major injuries that interrupted much of the outcome of his career. Three Achilles tendon tears and two knee ligament tears kept him off the court for a long time.
