Chelsea started the Thomas Tuchel era on Wednesday with a scoreless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The ‘Blues’ were unable to break the defense of some ‘Lobos’ who dedicated themselves to defending the scoreboard and who were close to taking the victory in the last twenty minutes with a shot to the crossbar by Pedro Neto.
Tuchel, who debuted on the Stamford Bridge bench this Wednesday, made many changes and put in a defense of five, giving the starting position to Spanish César Azpilicuta, in addition to Olivier Giroud, Jorginho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz.
With Timo Werner, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham on the bench, Chelsea were the best team on the pitch and had enough opportunities to tip the balance in their favor, especially in the boots of Giroud and Ben Chilwell.
But they were unable to convert any and as it rained at Stamford Bridge the game became heavy and prone to a zero to zero that does not fix the problems of either team.
Chelsea does not find it useful to get out of the bad run of results in which it was immersed with Frank Lampard and remains eighth, with 30 points, five of the Champions League, while Wolves, who continue to miss the goals of the Mexican Raúl Jiménez, is thirteenth, with 23 units.
In the other meeting in the afternoon in England, Burnley came back twice against Aston Villa and took a victory (3-2) that serves to move away from the relegation zone.
