In the 2020 season the Formula 1 the championship began with two clear messages. The first of them was’ End To Racism (End Racism) ‘and the second was’ We Run As One (We Race As One) ‘. Many older drivers and some fans did not agree with these expressions, claiming that it is a political issue, that it has to be out of sport.
However, the highest category of motorsports has already made a decision. The 2021 season will not be different in these aspects and will continue to send messages against racism and in favor of equality. This was confirmed by the top leader of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, in an interview in the last hours. In addition, if you continue with them, more time will be spent on them.
As confirmed by Domenicali for the Sky Sports medium, the We Race As One program will continue as it had been doing in the last season. “We will spend more time before the race,” he assured. It should be noted that unlike 2020, the Grand Prix will not start 10 minutes later than the official time (for example 15:10), since it will start on the dot.
On the other hand, Domenicali assured that the pilots will play a fundamental role in the massiveness of these messages. In his words, the protagonists think they are ‘ambassadors’ of the category and that will help the message that they are trying to send to reach the whole world, especially young people, who follow their idols, such as Lewis Hamilton which is one of the biggest exponents of the cause.
Regarding this message, many fans expressed their discomfort regarding the scandal of Nikita Mazepin. The Russian was accused of abusing a model, and uploading it to his social networks, while he was enjoying his vacation in Dubai with his friends. According to the protagonist of the scandal, she was in a drunken state and Mazepin took the opportunity to surpass himself.
