BARCELONA – The recovery of Ansu Fati keeps Barcelona in suspense and has gone from being worrying to setting off the alarms.
The young Barça striker, who underwent surgery on November 9 for a tear in the internal meniscus of the left knee that was supposed to keep him out for four months, was secretly operated on again in January and it is not ruled out that he should return to go through the operating room. The news, advanced by TV3, could be confirmed by ESPN, so it is very likely that he will not play again this season.
The primary objective of the doctors, as well as the club and the footballer himself, is to recover his knee one hundred percent, not wanting to establish any type of deadlines attending to Ansu’s youth, 18 years old, and putting recovery above all else absolute.
On Tuesday ESPN already reported that the player’s recovery was not developing as expected and that, therefore, it was contemplated that his reappearance, initially expected for mid-March, be delayed, in order not to take any type of risks. The situation, however, is more worrying than it seemed.
The footballer’s second operation, directed again by Dr. Cugat, was carried out in the most absolute of secrets, at the express wish of Ansu and Barcelona, aware of the situation, did not give any information about it. In fact, the last statement from the club regarding the player dates back to January 4, days before that second intervention.
The forecasts, however, are not the best. Last week, ESPN learned, the inflammation of the knee when he forced physical work was a constant and that forced him to stop, reducing his exercises, being examined again by Dr. Cugat and assessing the possibility of a third operation, which It will be decided in the next few weeks if it does not improve ostensibly.
