José Mourinho, Tottenham Hotspur coach, criticized Gareth Bale for assuring via Instagram on Tuesday that he was physically ready to play, despite the fact that he was unable to be against Everton later due to a muscle problem.
The Welsh player posted a photo last Tuesday, in which he wrote that it had been a good training session, but earlier that Monday, he had requested a scan for a discomfort and after said training session he still felt uncomfortable.
The scan showed no injuries, but Bale was not part of the team that lost to Everton in the round of 16 of the FA Cup.
“Probably that publication is not even his responsibility. I don’t know. But what he said was that the training had been good and that he was ready and it was not true. When they ask me about it, I have to tell the truth. I will repeat for the last time, “he said.
“He was not well, he asked for a scan, he had it, it did not show anything, no injuries, but he was still not well. We cannot decide on that because how a footballer feels is above, so we do not take him to the game. It’s as simple as that. If it is ready for tomorrow, it will be on the list, “said Mourinho at a press conference.
