Along with Neymar, Mbappé became a pillar of the Paris Saint-Germain team. The Frenchman is gaining more and more prominence around the world, but the story could have been different. Historic Arsenal manager Wenger revealed that he came close to signing the forward.
Arsène Wenger made history in front of the Gunners. When he was still coach of the London team and Mbappe played in the Monaco, the coach revealed that he visited the forward to negotiate his transfer.
“We can talk about Mbappé. I went to his house when he was not determined to renew his contract with Monaco. He could have gone to Arsenal for free. But I would say that all clubs have stories like that,” Wenger told beIN Sports.
Mbappe stood out this past Wednesday when the PSG beat Barcelona 1-4 in the Champions League with three goals from the French striker.
