Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic will meet this Sunday for the grand final of the Australian Open, looking to meet the champion of the first Grand Slam of the season.
The Russian comes from defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinal, while the Serbian eliminated Aslan Karatsev, the big surprise of the tournament. In the history between the two, the world’s number one has a 4-3 lead.
Despite this, the last meeting was at the 2020 ATP Finals London, a duel in which Medvedev showed a great level and won the victory against Nole by 6-3, 6-3.
What’s more, both met in a single opportunity at the Australian Open, for the fourth round of the 2019 edition. On that occasion, Djokovic defeated the Russian 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-3.
