Scotsman Andy Murray, a three-time Grand Slam winner, wondered whether women should play best-of-five-sets matches and whether fans prefer to watch these kinds of matches or best-of-three sets.
The British, former world No. 1, who did not compete in the Australian Open and has just reached the final last week at the Challenger in Biella, published two polls on his account. Instagram.
In the first one, Murray asked if “as tennis fans they prefer to watch best of three or best of five sets.” The results reflected 73% in favor of the best of five and 27% for the best of three.
In the second, Murray asked whether women should play best of five sets in Grand Slam, as opposed to best of three now.
The results showed that 66% of their audience voted in favor of changing and having them play the best of five and 34% against.
Murray, current 125th in the world, will return to competition next week at the ATP 250 in Montpellier, after receiving a wild card.
