(EFE) – Milan made the first match score profitable and reached the last 16 of the Europa League after drawing one goal with Red Star at Giusseppe Meazza.
The equalizer at two goals in the first game led to the survival of Stefano Pioli’s team, who took advantage in the eighth minute with the penalty converted by Ivorian Frank Kessie.
However, the Serbian team tied before half an hour through Comorian El Fardou Ben and opened the match.
Stefano Pioli, who started Samu Castillejo but left Brahim Díaz on the bench, used many of the regulars after the break, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Theo Hernández.
The expulsion of Marko Gobeljic in 70 relieved Milan in the final stretch and secured their pass to the last 16 of the European competition.
