Spanish Roberto Bautista, world number 13 and first seed, will meet Belgian David Goffin, 15th in the ranking and second favorite, in the final of the Montpellier tournament (France), after beating German Peter Gojowczyk 7-5 and 6-1.
Bautista remains intractable in France. The Spaniard has yet to lose a set in Montpellier and despite a first set in which his rival showed strong opposition to the service, he re-imposed himself comfortably to certify his ticket to the last round.
Opposite will be David Goffin, who beat Belarusian Yegor Gerasimov in three sets (6-4, 6-4 and 2-6). In the balance of the games played between Bautista and Goffin, The Belgian is the winner (3-2).
Both came to the tournament in the south of France under the banner of favorites, their distance in the ranking is minimal, and the level they have shown in the tournament has been outstanding.
Bautista Agut will go out in search of his tenth title, while for Goffin, if he is proclaimed the winner, it will be his fifth.
