Even with the Córdoba Open in dispute, the Argentina Open started with a classification that is an ATP tournament in itself and with the traditional draw that produced more than interesting matches.
With at least eight Argentines already waiting for what Qualy, the first seed, may bring, Diego Schwartzman will try to regain good feelings at home and from the round of 16 when he faces the winner of Andrej Martin and a Qualy.
Miomir Kecmanovic (directed by David Nalbandian) will do the same against the winner of the duel that will be reissued in the round of 16 in Córdoba between Thiago Monteiro and Roberto Carballés.
Benoit Paire could meet again with Federico Coria. For this, the Rosario must beat a player in the classification; Albert Ramos-Viñolas, Schwartzman’s executioner in Córdoba, will collide in the first instance with the special guest Holger Rune; Y Chilean Cristian Garin will face the winner of the match between Joao Sousa and a Qualy.
What’s more, Dominik Koepfer will meet Thiago Tirante, another of the wild cards; Facundo Díaz Acosta awaits a classified; Facundo Bagnis will welcome Frances Tiafoe; Federico Delbonis will run into the great moment of Juan Manuel Cerúndolo; and Juan ignacio Londero will not have it easy at all with the Spanish Pablo Andújar.
This competition has not had a local champion since 2008 when the aforementioned Nalbandian was established.
